MDF Edge Wraps
Hi all,
Sorry not a general framing question, but has anyone attempted MDF Edge Wraps, the reason I ask is I've had an enquiry to do a number of these. I've watched the tutorial on the Hot Press DVD which was very helpful the only thing it didn't show was what type of hanging system to use. I've scanned the Lion catalogue and came across the 'Keyhole Hanger' which looks like the one for the job, but the thing I can't seem to find is the bit to drill the hole in the MDF. This seems to me to be a specialist shallow bit because you can't drill straight through the MDF because it will show on the print side once heat sealed and dry mounted.
Any advice much appreciated.
See you at the Lion Event if you are going.
Thanks as always.
Adrian.

Hi,
Thanks again you obviously buy that from a kitchen supplier eg. magnet and southerns. (do you have these people in Ireland ???)
Is the iron on type or do you glue it permanently ?
Much appreciated

I didn't know people still did these, check out our new website (http://www.myphotoblox.co.uk) we sell something similar too mdf edge wraps,it looks abit like a canvas but with sharper egdes,My boss came up with the idea and I have too say I prefer these too a canvas
Re: MDF Edge Wraps
yea its not a new idea
its been around for ages
actually another option for hanging is using split battens, which by lifting the piece off the wall gives a nice shadow line

Re: MDF Edge Wraps
our product has been going for about 4 years now,and as far as we know nobody can do our way.the edges are folded round so its all one image no joints are visible.i've seen other people just stick a print too board and then stick some sort of egding round but with this way you can see the joints
