Just got a letter from Santa and he is bringing my new CMC-iX next week, I hope his sleigh is big enough
I plan to make shadow box frames on it as well as the usual mounts.
They need to be reasonably strong so am thinking of a mount board box inside a backing board box?
Has anyone made these on a valiani and if so, what backing board would you recommend for making a box?
I have one customer that buys in bulk and likes the idea of shipping the shadow boxes flatpacked for assembly themselves when needed.
Any advice would be gratefully received
Many thanks
Steve
Which board for shadow boxes

Guess who's been trawling 'unanswered posts'!
It can't make frames, frames are made of wood .... or plastic ... or metal. Your Valiani can make an outer box from thicker board than the inner box, no problem, but why not just make a frame deep enough to swallow the box?stevebowen wrote:I plan to make shadow box frames on it as well as the usual mounts.
A box made from board is scored or 'V' grooved to make the folds and lacks strength where it is most needed, your CMC cannot defy physics.
