metal frame spacing

Hello

Wonder if any one can help? I have 3 black metal frames to do before Christmas, I will use the chop service from Arqadia. The prints are very minimal black lithographs hence the thin metal frames, My question is this…. I do not want to put a mount on the prints but use the existing space on the paper, what can I use to get a space between the glass and the print, I do not want to have the prints directly on the glass. I have seen somewhere a thin transparent strip used to separate mount from glass, but can not find any details or supplier. Your help would be much appreciated Brian

What you describe is Econospace available from http://www.lionpic.co.uk/. You can make your own using stacked strips of mountboard and doublestick tape, but it's a bit fiddly.

you are looking for EconoSpace, self adhesive acrylic spacers in clear, black and white. Lion sell it (www.lionpic.co.uk ) and so do Tawneycraft in Northampton sales@tawneycraft.com. I am sure other suppliers do.

You can make your own using stacked strips of mountboard and doublestick tape, but it's a bit fiddly.

Or self adhesive mountboard, but it still can be a bit fiddly. I use Econospace out of preference, as it's quick and easy. If I'm out of stock at the time and it can't wait, then self adhesive mountboard can work as a back-up option.

i recently had a rake of framed to do that needed spacers

i laminated 2 sheets of mountboard together using my cold press

the cut it into strips using my gunnar, and cut a whole load so had loads of spares i can just cut to length with a knife


was much quicker
