Fillet Master UK

Post by Trinity »

Ladies and Gentlemen, Chapitos et Chapesses,
Following the withdrawal of the Fillet Master from "the" catologue and product line of wholesalers (just at the very time I wanted one) I bought one direct from the U S inventor, Jerry Lee. I was very, very impressed, and decided that this little marvel of a tool should not be denied to UK framers. Working directly with Jerry Lee I have purchased a large quantity of Fillet Masters and Extensions, that are currently clearing UK customs. These will become available just after Christmas.

What, you may enquire, is a Fillet Master (FM) and who would want one.

Well, a FM is used to precision cut a slip moulding to (typically) fit inside the aperture of the mount. It transfers the exact measurement from mount to morso in seconds, and within 2 minutes you can have 4 perfect lengths ready to fit.

Believe me, for the novice / learner / infrequent user it deskills the operation making the cutting and fitting of slips a doddle - that's my category so you can trust me on this. Even the experienced speed merchant would, I respectfully suggest, find them a boon, soon recouping the outlay.

Have a look at the FM website:
www.filletmaster.com
for a demo of this gem - lost among 000's of items in a catologue, brought to you by me at a cost of £135 + postage for the standard FM giving 1115mm width of slip , £30 for the 305mm length extenders.

Please get in touch should you want further information.

I see Lion are now marketing / selling the "Fillet Pro", "Combined tool lets you measure then mitre cut slips for a perfect fit everytime"

They obviously think there is a market.

I saw the "Fillet Pro" at Spring Fair - an amazing piece of kit and well worth a look especially if you don't happen to possess a Morso. I think the general message is that fillets / mount slips cab be a real added value item for framing.

My Fillet Master's remain at £139, no VAT and £11 for 48hr tracked postage - but you do need a morso to make them work. I shall be putting them on the auction site come this weekend as a b i n.

Don't forget you can see the video on
www.filletmaster.com

For anyone wanting to collect and see a demo, I'm Howden, East Yorkshire, or I can bring to FFL in March.

Just bought one... thanks Keith.

Video is still flakey for me on the website but I right clicked and saved it first and it then played as it should... just a tip for anyone having the same problems.

Once I viewed the video I couldn't believe how simple it looked and as most people who want to cut fillets will have a morso it is the obvious choice over 'others products' that are more expensive.

Can't wait for it to arrive.

Well, initial excitement translated into good sales, but there might be more that would benefit from the investment in a Fillet Master. They're now on the auction site and available. However I'm dropping one of en route to FFL and the thought ocurred to me that if you want one and wish to save on postage I could bring it with me to FFL - just check out this website
