Morso BA question.

Post by Colin Macintyre »

Hi,

As part of my move towards a semi-pro standard of framing, I have bought a secondhand Morso BA (the baby, bench top model). I have been able to work out how everything works except for a lever handle at the back. This handle when moved to the vertical position moves the whole block (holding the blades) forward a fraction (to what I'm fairly sure is the correct working position).
Could anyone tell me the purpose and correct use of this control?
Thanks in advance for any contributions.

Colin.

Well if I am not mis remembering, that lever marginally adjusts the cutting position. So slightly further out would still cut through the majority of the frame width, and the lever would allow you to finalise the finished cut by taking off the last slither and giving a nice smooth clean mitred cut rather than having to chop out a full width of frame in 1 movement and giving a more professional cut.
Again, I might be mis remembering.

Colin, Morso have a pretty good web site with lots of information, and if they don't have the BA manual on their web site I'm sure they'd email you one free of charge if you contact them, they take support and customer service more seriously than most!
