Morso paint anyone ?

Post by Madwolfie »

Hi

I have searched endlessly to find some paint to touch up a scratched Morso F.

Even emailed Morso direct, but is taking ages - anyone know of where I can get some - or if any other paint will do ??

Thanks in advance

Hi
Thanks for that - I have some of that paint here - your Morso may be a different colour than mine as mine is definitely not Dark Green - it is a kind of paler green than the Hammerite.

Some time ago they used to do a pale green, but not anymore :(

Thanks for the help

This is the first thing that came up on a search:

sure there must be other suppliers and shades of green out there

Yes, I found that one too, but not sure it is the right colour but - anyone want to go share ?? 2.5 litres is a hell of a lot of paint for a few scratches to touch up !

Still looking

If it's just some small scratches, what about car touch-up paint?

Hi

and thanks

I have been given Pete's details by Morso - Pete says that he will have to contact Morso direct - just seems to be a long process as I had already done that.

I asked on here to see if anyone else had found some another way :( Not that I am impatient or anything !

Just filling in an idle few days waiting for the first exhibition to start, once it all kicks in I won't have any spare time - I hope !
Cheers

Prospero

Thanks for the idea knowing my daughters' penchants for glitter (which always seems to appear on your face whilst getting ready to go and see a client) I am sure it would end up very posh !

No, I just want it to be neater than it is - it was secondhand and I have polished bits back from the rusty dead and got the whole thing working perfectly now ( I think) and would just like to repair the scratches.

Appreciate your posts of informative gems
Cheers

You could pop into a modellers' shop or go on ebay and buy three small 14ml tinlets of Humbrol enamel (not the acrylic stuff) and mix the colour exact (one matt for undercoat, one gloss green and one gloss white or black [depending on the shade of green]).

I have one that came "pimped" from the factory. I bought it second hand in the UK but was confirmed by email by Morso that it was one of a batch produced by the factory in blue for a customer in Belgium! A well travelled piece of hardware, it's a shame all Morso's dont have a log book to show their heritage.

Paint it black ??

Considering my workshop that would be a nightmare, I would never see it - it is a squeeze everytime I get to use it. So gold is the only other possible or luminous - now there is a thought.

Still puzzled it is not a list item

back to work

Follow this link and it will tell you the age of your Morso

Not sure if it will apply to the BLUE machine that you bought that was made for EURO in Belgium.

Whats the problem? Most paint suppliers even homebase will mix to match just take a chip or match from a pantone book. easy no?

Hi

Well, the paint saga has finally drawn to a close ! For one the Morso is painted using a two part formula and is a HAMMERED finish which I am not sure is available in a mix to order in Homebase or B&Q. And for the second reason I have heard from Morso . . . read on . . .

Pete of Framers Equipment has been really helpful sorting out my underpinner and some framing quirks, shall be ordering my supplies from there soon rather than my normal cat supplier. He also has received the definitive quotation direct from Morso.

Wait for it - 2 part product of MORSO paint, direct delivery = £114.56

Sure we will all be ordering some now :D

Another Colin here with another secondhand Morso in need of a touch-up. Wondering if you managed to sort the problem out?

Hi Colin

Are people called Colin more concerned with appearances ??

Just a thought. Well the problem is kindha sorted - we have a definitive supply offer from MORSO of the correct paint to do the job. Trouble is it has a price - a very high one.

Me - well I am working on an alternative and it looks like it will work - so watch this space.

Cheers
