Its not so much the cut, but after you have joined the four corners, Obeche and barewoods are much more forgiving than pre finished ones.grahamg wrote: can you elaborate on sanding the mitre joints? If you are going to apply loads of gesso you are covering up the wood surface, so if at the corners you have one side of the mitre that is a fraction higher or you have lots of glue that has seeped out you can just sand this all away and have a smooth mitre, also if you do have any gaps after joining they can be filled and sanded.
