Customer wants to match an oak moulding, the one he has is very similar to Lion L1760 except the edges are slightly rounded over (similar to Ashworth and Thompson's 20250.oak) with a completely flat face.
Hope that makes sense.
Anybody know of something that will suit?
Many thanks,
Steve

Re: Looking for a moulding
Have you had a look at the Simon's Oak range on page two of their catalogue. It has a rounded edge?

I think you'd get better response if you posted a photo of what you want to match or of the mouldings you have given the reference No's of - otherwise you're limiting yourself to people that deal with Lion and/or A&T and further limiting yourself to those out of them that can be arsed to look up the references.

Apologies for my tardiness - family BBQ with suckling pig took me away!
I will get the camera out and post a couple of pics.

Re: Looking for a moulding
The top moulding is the Lion L1760 and lower is A&T 20250.oak. Trying to find an oak moulding with dimensions of Lion with rounded edges of A&T.
Many thanks for looking,

Re: Looking for a moulding
The only one I can spot is a Simons one, but it's Ash. 0ASH/0012. And then I think the rebate depth is nearer 20mm than 27. Hard to tell by the cat.
All the Oak moulding near that size have square edges, so I think your options are:
Use a sq edge one and sand the edges. For a significant radius you would ideally need a router table.
Get some milled up to your exact spec. There are a number of firms who would do this. But you are probably looking at a minimum run of 500ft or so. Depends on how much you need or could stockpile.

Re: Looking for a moulding
I think I will have a go at rounding over an offcut to see if it works. Failing that the customer will have to put up with the square edges.
Many thanks all
