Need help finding a 'Box' or 'Float' moulding

Post by CanvasChris »

Tried the usual suspects, Lion, Simons, Mainline etc but no luck. Client wants an Oak moulding... or oak finish as in the attached.

Quit like the flat edge to this one too.... the others have a rounded.

Any body know who does these?

Thanks in advance

Chris

What about an oak veneer used on its side? I have thought about using the Lion ones (think they are called Vermont) but never had time to experiment.

Thats a bit of a shout... have some in stock. Trouble is it's only 40mm and the float frame needs to be 50mm... like the lion and simons Boxx moulding.

If it is a plain oak frame then Rose and Hollis do a couple that maybe a suitable size, flat sections that can be used on their side. I am away at the moment and forgot to bring my catalogues with me :D so can't tell you the dimensions or code numbers.

I sometimes use the L shaped pine or oak you can get from builders merchants or B & Q you can get it in various depths & thicknesses it stains & waxes well & look great when finished properly.

Would like the moulding to match the rest of the colours and to be honest I don't have the flexibility in price to wax and stain etc.. too time consuming.

Lions range is great... just the Oak missing.

Image above was taken from Loxley's brochure so it must be available from somewhere...???

Simons 'Oregon' range on page 73 are oak veneers, largest is 45mm wide (or 45mm deep if mitred on its side)
