Silver plated frame.

Post by stanhol »

Hello all,

I have had a customer asking for a silver plated frame, which needs to be engraved. Approximate size is 10 x 25 cm. The only other details I have is,it is needed for 3 photos.
Anbody have any idea where I can source silver frames?
Many thanks,

Sandra.

Well a quick gooogle turns up a few hits.

The problem is that these frames are probably on a stamped metal base. So non-standard sizes are a no-go. :?

A silversmith will be able to make a frame to your sizes.

edit* just re-read your post, a silver plated frame the size you need should be available of the shelf somewhere...

Many thanks as always for replies.

As suspected there is no magic supplier of silver frames!

Customer still making decision, silver plate or have me make and attach a plaque!

Thanks again,

Sandra.

You could always go for a wide polished 'silver' aluminium frame and stick an engraved plaque to it. Not as classy but much cheaper. Or a nice sliver leafed wooden frame.

Another thing: The off the shelf silver plated frames look as though they will just about take the thickness of a photo. Start adding mounts and such and you may have big problems fitting.
