Call Centres menues a work round
I had to ring Virgin Media customer services earlier, went through all the menus and tapping in my account number, message said they would put me through to somebody to help me, so far this had taken approximately 6 minutes, I waited about another ten minutes, then gave up/hung up
. later I tried again , But this time I did not chose any options on the menu, the message kept asking me to chose, within about 2 minutes I was taking to a human about my problem -- RESULT
I don't know if this will work in every case, but I'm going to try it from now on.

I find pressing star zero (*0) gets you through to a person

Yes it is always best to ignore the - for sales press 1, for parts press 2 etc. and just wait until someone answers. It is much quicker than being sent into a queue.
