I'm looking for a foam centred board that is flat and rigid and can be cut by knife, but can't be too easily dented by finger pressure.
The unbranded foam core board I have in stock is soft and easily dented, but foamex is a bit too dense for me to cut on the Excalibur. Is there a brand available that has properties that lie somewhere between the two?

Re: 5mm foam centred board
I just got some black foam board in and noticed it seems to be more dense and rigid than the white stuff.
Re: 5mm foam centred board
Artcare restore is more rigid than normal foam board, probably due to it being coated with a heat-activated adhesive, but unless you can find a distributor you'll have to buy a box of 25 sheets from Nielsen .... if they deliver to your part of the world.

Hi j2m, where can I source black foam board from, I like the idea of black foam board for box framed and laminated prints. Is it generally available? Thanks. Ps if it's a special request you have sourced I understand if it's top secret.

They don't actually list it in their catalogue and I only found out by asking them. Speak to Clive or Karl Tel 01604 792 782

The two toughest foamboards I know are Bienfeng and Foamlite. Bienfeng is very expensive, so I use Foamlite which is cheaper. I buy it in box quantities from Lion.
