Is this suitable for rigid tabs on 6"x8" frames

I'm using a 6"x8" frame which has quite a thin rebate (only about 1.3cm width of frame on back)...I originally purchased the logan fitting tool from lions, but the tabs I purchased were to long and were exposed slightly on the outer side of the frame ruining it. I also didn't like the feed system on this tool, so prefer buying a framers tab gun suitable for just tabs and mainly only using rigid.

Firstly what are the smallest rigid tabs you can get so they don't go through the frame, and secondly would this gun fit snug into the 6"x8" frame allowing you to fire the tabs flush into the side of it, or would the gun be to big?

I use Fletcher tabs guns for most frames, but also have a red devil glaziers point gun which fire very rigid small diamond points. Really useful little tool. Link to one sold on ebay here

I use a fair amount of 14*14mm Black cushion which is Obeche based. There's 8 3/4 mm of wood to take the points (flexitabs) and I had a lot of trouble trying to regulate the insertion force so the points didn't break through. It was all a bit hit'n'miss ..... until I now drive the points at an angle of about 30 degrees so that one side of the 'V' at the sharp end is parallel with the edge of the moulding. It effectively gives about 10 mm of oblique width to accept the point. The extra mm or so means it works every time now!
