Moulding for Sports Shirts

Post by vitalframer »

Morning All,

I am currently struggling with finding suitable moulding with a deep enough rebate for framing sports shirts (I use Arqadia mostly). What do you think should be the minimum rebate depth and hence the size of the foamboard spacer? I have seen mentioned using moulding extensions which allows using any moulding of choice but how is this technique used? Any help and pics would be very helpful thanks.

I use 33716700 (or the others in the range) from arqadia. It has a double stepped rebate which is useful (about its only use PITA otherwise). You can then either use Lions 18mm glass spacers ie L1342 or use foam core to line it. 18mm for me is enough for a sports shirt. I also stretch the shirt over a foacore former in the, simple enough to make.

This combination always works well for me.

Many thanks for your reply. Does anyone else have advice on how to add extensions to mouldings to increase the rebate?

I do loads of footy shirts and have always used LION L989 (black) and L1758,L1759 (Gold & Silver), I have never had to extend the rebate, I do a double mount and use 3mm Foamcore to fit the body of the shirt.
