Churchgate Gallery Summer Exhibition
After a dramatic and successful first show we are proud and excited to show a new collection of Paul's paintings, whose intricate observations of everyday life are sympathetically portrayed in monochrome
Ken Hildrew
Not a topographical painter, Ken seeks to convey and impression, sometimes tending towards the abstract on his interpretation of the interaction of light, air and land. A classically trained painter of light and mood, his work is renowned for capturing the essence of Exmoor and depicts the unique landscape, resulting the devoted following he has gained locally and internationally.
Rob Heard
Uniquely structured fairy-style houses built of wood, winding their way around the bough of the trees. Rob's hand hewn Bough Houses are all individually crafted and stand at around 6ft tall.
Caroline Lytton
Trained in jewellery and silversmithing at the John Cass School of Metropolitan Art, Caroline designs and makes individual pieces for regular wear or special gifts. Raised or forged silverware textured with hammers or press to create a tactile matt finish with polished highlights. Her jewellery is beaten or patterned, some with oxidised or gold details: distinctive necklaces with semi-precious stones or combined with feature beads. Caroline currently has a piece on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum, entitled 'Wild Winter Bowl'.
If anyone is in the area it would be lovely if you could join us for canepes and a glass of wine!

Re: Churchgate Gallery Summer Exhibition
Thanks Alistair.
It will be interesting to see how it goes in comparison to last year - This will be Paul Askew's second show. At his debut show last year we sold 28 originals and a lot of limited prints. I was surprised by this, not because its not good work , it is. But its quite urbane for our rural setting. I'll post some more pictures of it hanging next wee, but first we need to finish framing 40 of them!
