Underpinner help

Post by pramsay13 »

My underpinner rubber thing is causing me problems. It keeps popping off the magnet as I'm trying to pin, and I'm worried I end up damaging the wood. I keep glueing it but to no avail. Is it possible to buy a replacement, ideally one with the magnet inside the rubber?

The 'rubber thing' is a pressure pad! What sort of underpinner do you have? It's not the sort I have because my pressure pad is not attached by a magnet.

Is this one any good anyway? http://www.lionpic.co.uk/product/ADJUST ... 263,0.aspx

Maplin's sell button magnets.
Drill an appropriately sized recess into your rubber pad & super-glue the magnet in place

Good advice is best learned, rather than simply listened to.

The rubber bit I have just now is not thick enough so is there someone that does a replacement big enough. I seem to remember my old cassesse had quite a bit rubber pad?
Also I can't get it to stay on with glue as it keeps bending / flexing because of different profiles on the mouldings so just separates.

You should be able to purchase a replacement from the spares department at Framers Corner, ask for Ian. They stock both right angle and circular pads.
