Manchester is very accessible with good train connections and an airport. Or may be Leeds/Bradford.

Re: Meet Learn Celebrate
I had every intention of going to MLC and was disappointed not to attend, but in the end I could just not face the drive to Elstree. Friday night I was going, but by Saturday it seemed too far and too much effort.
Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds would be fine. So would Saturday / Sunday.
Given the time and effort that suppliers of all descriptions put into the event they deserve the best location, somewhere central.

Do not be afraid of strangers, for thereby many have entertained angels unawares.
Re: Meet Learn Celebrate
May be a factor if there is great distance and/or water to cross, but there were 'no shows' - lots of name badges left on the table. Would be interesting to know how many of those did not have those factors to worry about and why they did not cancel with as much notice as poss, even if 24 hrs, instead of just not turn up.
Still, stuff can be learned - the vast majority of those that have paid anything up front will show up, (commitment) those that just register to be there without a stay-over or taking a seminar/workshop (non- commitment) need to be counted separately and a % response calculated from past experience.

I agree
I actually think these events you should pay for, it then gives them more percieved value, and also a commitment from attendee
Look at lions framers week, it was booked out in no time at all

There's nothing I can do if it don't get through, blame it on the Pony Express !
There's nothing I can say if it's gone a stray, blame it on the Pony Express !
