I have read that some framers use Corel Draw to design mounts for CMCs. What file formats do the various CMCs read? And are there any softwar version issues? Ideally I'd like to know what format the Gunnar software can import from Corel.
Thanks

Re: Corel Draw
My Valiani came with Corel Draw 9 when new and we still use that as we have not found it imperative to upgrade.
If designing in Corel the files are exported in plt format although I have noticed the Valiani software includes a dxf converter.
There is a new software package included with new Valiani machines or option to upgrade (£) for older machines.

Re: Corel Draw
PLT is the common file format for the Valiani range and I believe most CMC's.
I use CD x4 at the moment and have found no problems exporting to Valiani software.
DXF is another. However, I believe it is not 'standardised', so there may be version errors.

Re: Corel Draw
Hi Alan
The Wizard software can use dxf files, but Wizard does have it's own custom design software (Path Trace) that is supplied with all machines so our customers just use that.

Re: Corel Draw
Gunnar's GMC does have its own Draw Mode. It is also possible to import .dxf, .plt and .emf files. Anyone wishing to take a vector file from either Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator can simpley copying from either program and paste into GMC.
