I haven't updated EstLite for ages and now have version 8.17 and I'm going to spend a bit of time looking at stuff I probably should have started using years ago ( like the postcode checker thingy ).
I have noticed that a barcode is being printed on the left hand corner of printed invoices, not a big problem but I was wondering what it's used for ? ( I did check that it wasn't just my printer, it doesn't do it on other prints from my PC )
Thanks in advance,
Adam/Bagpuss

Hi Adam,
Scanning the barcode of the framing docket makes life easier by giving you instant access to some of the most often used workshop and POS functions.

- Enter payment in the cash register and mark job collected
- Find customer in database and re-use their details for another job
- Re-use docket for a repeat job for the same customer

Re: EstLite version 8.17
thanks for the swift reply John, this sounds of great interest, I'm sure I'm only using EstLite to a fraction of it's ability.
I have never had a bar code reader John, can you or any other EstLite users suggest one for a beginner please ? I've always wanted
a bar code reader how sad is that ??
Thanks again,
Adam

Re: EstLite version 8.17
We have two scanners - bought of eBay.
A laser type (around £30) that does a very fast scan, and An LED type (£13) that is a bit slower but does the job just fine. Both are plug-and-play, (no drivers needed for WIN7, Vista, XP), and both worked out of the box with EstLite.
Anything more expensive is probably overkill for our purposes, though a cordless one might be nice.
