scam?

Received the following email enquiry and my strong instinct is that it's a scam. What do you think?

Hi Shop Owner,

I however contact several companies some time ago regarding some inquiry on Picture Frames but all effort proved futile though.I am glad to contact your company in other to see if you can assist me purchase these frames.See below for the types i am interested in below:

*20 x 24 Red Oak picture frames with glass and backing.
Quantities: 20

*24 x 30 Red Oak picture frames with glass and backing.
Quantities: 30

Kindly let me know the grand total cost inc vat only but excluding freight cost because this will be picked up from your location.Also,do you take master and visa card payment?I will be patiently waiting to read back from you soon.

I've had these with the exact same wording but they insert titles of paintings off my website, so they are asking for, like, 20 identical original paintings... last time I looked I wasn't running a chinese painting factory :roll: so I ignore them

The good news is it does mean your website is showing up well in searches :rock:

He will have send out a lot of these emails, as there can't be many who won't spot this as a scam.

In the USA there are those who like to play games with these scam artists and pack some heavy rubbish into a box ready for the scam artist to arrange delivery at his own expense.

As soon as delivery has been confirmed the scamster will cancel the credit card payment and then waits to receive the frames which will have cost him nothing except the collection and delivery at his own expense. When he finds out that he has paid for collection and delivery of a load of valueless junk, the joke is on him!
