moulding storage/velcro straps

Just to say thanks to Roboframer for velcro price. At the moment I only need hook stuff for samples, so will get from Lion, but much appreciated.
And Robin, thanks for velcro link....really good. The straps were expensive ...but have got other things I may give a try.

While were in the wonderful world of velcro**....has anyone found a way of making it stick to aluminium samples??

They are forever falling of wall. Have tried filling gap with fillets of card so sticky got more surface area..and have tried using 'no more nails' d-s pads, which stick about everything to everything. No joy there. fed up of them falling of wall, or hanging pathetically by one last bit .

Are you sure? On Star Trek Enterprise, they claim that T'Pau gave the secret of velcro to a woman in 1960's America........

That T'Pau. Always said you couldn't trust her. Her brother was just the same....

Palitana, have you tried the self-adhesive Velcro chevrons from Lion? The backing adhesive has a very high grab (don't need to put staples through it to keep it attached to a chevron: bonus!). Also, how about inserting little fillets of foamcore into the ends of the chevron and attaching it to the moulding using something like Evo-stick? I've not got round to creating my alu chevron sample board yet, so this is 'guessware' rather than a tried-and-tested solution.

Who are you using for aluminium?

Nielsen will give you whatever corner samples you want - free - and they'll come with steel strips to screw to the wall/spinner, with little clip in plastic corners that the samples hang over. I suppose you'd have to have an account with them.

Thanks lots moglet! I looked for velcro corners in lion catalogue (constantly to hand now i am drooling over fancy underpinners!) and hey, they have got heavy duty velcro reckoned to hold 7kg!! and (it gets better!) on same page a moulding corner display system as described by roboframer.( i get ali frames from rose & hollis as they are local) well done you two!

steve..don't watch star trek, so not sure i got that...but i think t'pau must have been walking the dog.

Velcro. Tried, tested and thrown out!!

We now use the LION Metal strip and Angles Cat 43 page 126.

Works very well on our carousels. Angles are for wood and for Alluminium.
