I need an oak 'L' moulding. Rose & Hollis A296 is just right but they don't list it in oak only beech or obeche.
Any ideas where I might find one or any ideas how to make one myself?

Thanks Ricky.
I have got a copy of their catalogue and couldn't see any 'Ls' and have just tried phoning them. Do you know anything about their custom profile service? What sort of quantity do you need to order? This job is just for one frame so I wouldn’t want to order more than about two lengths.
Cheers.

Don't know it either of these is good for you.
One is an oak veneer, and the other Ash.
I find oak and ash can be very similar.

Machining an 'L' in oak would need a big chunk of expensive wood and most of it would end end up as shavings. Not to mention a lot of passes though the miller.....
Why not see if you can get some PSE made and fix the bottom of the L on yourself out of any convenient bits of any type of wood. It won't be seen after all .

Prospero you are a genius, very simple and cost effective, I will be stealing that little tip.

I like that idea too. What would be the preferred method of fixing the bottom of the L?

Gluing and clamping is the best way. Obviously you want to avoid nailing from the outside. if you made the tray part as thick as possible - 10mm min, then there would be plenty of glue area.
