Moulding Rack Wanted

Post by mike p »

I'm looking for wall mounted moulding racks as my new workshop does not have the head room for vertical storage.
Anyone?

Fix vertical wooden battens to the wall. Three should do. 3ft apart. Get some angle brackets and some 12" x 8ft planks of Melamine covered chipboard. You can space the shelves as you like and move them anytime. Hammer fixings in the battens are the easiest and strongest way to get a good grip on a brick wall. On the front of the shelves, screw in some 'catchers'. Some roundabout 10" long thin bits of wood. You can pivot them round to access the moulding and then flip them vertical when you have finished.

Simples. :P

These are mine:

You can just see them above the bench, I would take a new photo, but camera is dying. Lion also do some.

Ive got three of these on the same wall, in total over 200 lengths of moulding, hasn't come down yet.

We just put our moulding brackets up - used sets of 3 (per row) 12x14" London Brackets, with the 14" being used for the moulding to rest on. With foam pipe insulation covering each bracket. Safe as houses, and only cost about £30 all in! Win win if you ask me.

B&Q shelving brackets wrapped in that copper pipe foam insulation. Nothing has fallen off, yet, but I do need to add some sort of fixing to stop moulding falling.
