Beware emails from HMRC
Just to warn people, just in case your virus software doesn't pick up on it, there is a scam email going from stating that it is from HMRC regarding a recent on-line VAT submission. It appears to come from the genuine HMRC email address, but has an attachment which has the virus in it. Genuine emails following a VAT submission don't have attachments.
So just a heads up not to open the attachment.

Re: Beware emails from HMRC
I got this one as well, i cannot believe how much dodgey e-mail I get, for every genuine query i get from my website, i get another telling me I've won the Spanish lottery or I'm entitled to a share of some money sitting in a Nigerian bank ???? Someone must bite when they get these e-mails or they wouldn't do it...
My real name is Adam Laver aka "Adam The Picture Framer", just in case you were unsure ; )

Got this one too and immediately thought it was dodgy. Contained phrases that were not UK English e.g Fiscal Activity

Re: Beware emails from HMRC
Mine was worded exactly the same as our normal email after a VAT submission, but it had one sentence added that mentioned the attachment, other than that it looked totally genuine.

Re: Beware emails from HMRC
I've had a few. Usually it says "click this to claim your rebate" or somesuch. The last one had some text at the bottom that looked very much like Hebrew.
I've had one from a building society that I haven't dealt with for 30 years or more. Even some that I have never had dealings with. Had a text msg the other day in connection with my accident claim of £3500. Funny how you can have accidents and never know.

This is quite a common one. If you're due a rebate, they will contact you via post.

Lent doesn't end until Apr 17 - I wonder what I'd like Kwik to give up for Lent.
