Post by teapot »

Hi there,
Does anyone have any suggestions for an easy to use pricing program suitable for mac books?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Tessa

You will probably find that it is easier to buy "Parallels for Mac" and run the Windows programs within that. My pricing program is in Excel which I converted to Excel for MAc but it slows down ridiculously every time the macros run. I think this is probably a deliberate ploy by Microsoft to get you to buy a Windows machine.

Now if Macs made their "Numbers" program a little more sophisticated (ie run macros) then life would be soooo much easier and Microsoft would go bust.

Hi Tessa, we used to run apple machines here, we then discovered virtually everything is faster more efficient and cheaper on windows, what you save on the machine you can buy decent professional software for pricing, Apple is all show and no substance.

you have been in our shop, our main pc was £1800 we had a quote from the apple store for the exact same spec hard ware at £3800 at that kind of spend we did our research, even adobe say there software runs better and faster on windows, with gpu acceleration, that just is not available with apple.

If you want to raid your drives this is simple with windows, £800 add on with apple last time I checked.

The list goes on, how any one can accurately use the apple mouse with their abohrant algorithms god only knows ( one of the reasons apple is useless for gaming) on the most sensitive settings it moves about 5 pixels per hand movement, where as I can spin 180 degree's and snipe the eye out of a sheep at 3 miles with windows, might not sound to relevant but it makes photoshop a whole lot easier too.

In the end we found our apple machines about as useful as tooth ache and got machines that get the job done.

in apples favour the case dose look nice.

P.S don't be worried about asking us for help, we supply mouldings, mount board and other services to local framers that they may not have the capacity to handle, at trade prices of course.
