That why I don't want to leave it on, I have no idea the damage if any it would cause by leaving it on? I've just removed one of the hinges with the zest it and it has left a mark/ water mark where I have applied the solvent. This is meant to evaporate and leave no trace.

I tested this on a piece of 90g printer paper before starting on the print, I applied so zest it to the thin printer paper and I looked like a grease mark so I used a hair dryer to help speed things up and it left no trace so fingers crossed.

Thanks for the help dude. I don't like the idea of a tape that instructs the user to not put it any nearer than 40mm to the artwork. Simply just don't like this tape anywhere near artwork that has the potential to increase in value.

Is that really what it says on the box?

IMHO, FWIW and other abbreviations ... there simply is no such thing as a conservation quality tape and even conservation quality hinges - say Japanese tissue and starch paste - still do SOMETHING to the artwork/paper - changes its original condition, however slightly - and then, although they may be fully reversible with water - who's going to do that - in each and every case? Not me!

Either way for a £1500 print my opinion is whoever framed this made a poor choice in the tape used but more worryingly the technique in how much of tape was used to hinge and how much was applied to the artwork. As a relatively new hobby/ part time framer I find that slightly worrying for the art of framing.
