Wizard 5000 problem

Post by boscawen46 »

I am looking at a secondhand wizard 5000 computer mount cutter but it apparently has a problem. It has developed a fault where the cutter head does not turn fully when cutting a mount. A new head was purchased but again apparently this has not solved the problem. Before going ahead and purchasing does anyone out there know what the problem could be and is it likely it could be repaired/resolved easily.
Thanks

Sam will give you pointers, but basically there are the following components to a wizard

1) the pc, I don't think there will be a problem there
2) the software (presumably the sellers have tried reloading this)
3) the USB cable to the wizard, see 1 above
4) the wizard processor, probably where the fault lies, these cost around £2000
5) the multi core cable between the processor and the head, these cost around £200 so would be with checking this first
6) the head

Hope this helps, but give Sam a ring, she's super helpful

(Edit: just realized the stuff I've written applies to my 8000, I've never even seen a 5000! But would image they are pretty similar)
