Heavy duty hangers

Post by pichousepreston »

Hi

I need to hang some very heavy ceramic pieces. Some are flat and some are slightly curved (large ceramic plates).

Any ideas on what would stick to ceramic or what adhesive to use? I have seen the large self adhesive plates that sometimes come on frameless mirrors, but wondered if they would stick to unglazed ceramic. Does anyome have any experience of this?

Thanks

Epoxy resin like araldite should work but test it first.

Yep. If epoxy won't stick nothing will. I would go for the slow-setting variety. Not only do you get more fiddling time, it is a bit tougher when cured than the 5 minute stuff. This is a plus when the actual bond is under any kind of stress.
