Has anybody any idea where or whom I would get this moulding of? We cannot be sure whether its been a hand made 'one off' or from some exclusive supplier. If it has to be brought in from the USA, so be it (the customer will absorb the cost). Please let me know. The canvases to be framed are 40 x 40 (inch)

I have not seen anything like this in normal distribution in the US. With the open cuts it appears to be either cast or hand made.
Hand made can have 2 variations. Totally hand carved or compo over a wood base. Am I correct in that it appears to be about 5" wide and has a painted finish? What type of construction is there at the corners? From the back?
Could it be a Victorian frame from London Turn of the last centuary?
I know all about hand made frames and their composition, but this one has not got a compo, it seems to be hand made completely. Its a modern frame, made to look old, the frame apparently is not that old, but unfortunately it does not belong to my client, she managed to get this photograph of it.
The width is approx. 3 3/4 inch, with a 2 inch slip frame, making it approx. 5 3/4 in total. I can finish the frame (if I could get it 'bare') to the clients reqiurements. I have tried the usual 'bespoke' moulding manufactures over here in UK, or those that I know of, living in Northern Ireland, there are bound to be some in the UK mainland, even I dont know of. I have sent emails with the image to quite a few contacts, but to date no one can do it???????
I think my best bet is to wait and go round all the manufactures at the Spring Fair at the NEC in February.
What gives me hope is the fact the moulding does exist, photos never lie!
Thanks Jerome for your input.

A few years ago I reframed/repaired a few which had been smoke damaged, they looked very much like this. It was only with very close inspection that you could tell that they were in fact plastic.
Needless to say, the ones that couldn't be cleaned up were re-framed completely differently.
Funnily enough it had crossed my mind when she brought in the photograph, but I am assured it isnt.....the quest continues.
