Thats interesting, the problem on mine seems to be wear occuring between the two rulers. I think I'll have a closer look in the morning.

Yes I also have had that problem.

Solved by sticking a strip of parcel tape. (that very thin but very strong shiny brown stuff) along the mating edge of the sliding ruler.
