Just had an email from the SF team obviously trying to muster the troops.

Anyway 5 good reasons to visit SF 2014

The biggest & best buying opportunity of the year That says volumes about our industry if a corner of Hall 4, with most of our major suppliers missing is the biggest opportunity that it can offer.

Discover new, exclusive and inspiring products I doubt it.

Inspiring buying in 13 sectors I am a commercial picture framer, why do I want to look at Christmas trees.

Experience inspirational show features What cueing up for half an hour to buy an over priced latte and sandwich.

Insight from industry experts Though I enjoy watching Pete's demo's on hand finished frames and always enjoy a chat, its still not enough to drag me over to the NEC on a Sunday morning.

I used to love looking at all the new mouldings, seeing new artwork and how it was being framed, but unfortunately the sparkle of Spring fair was lost about 5 yrs ago and even last years re visit was not enough to convince me to go again. It simply doesn't have enough exhibitors in the Art (non existent)& Framing section to make a visit worthwhile, and sadly i doubt if any of the major suppliers will ever go again.

I just deleted that one without opening it - should have unsubscribed first, never mind.

Reminds me of a greeting exchange between myself and an executive of a prominent supplier to the trade : - me "Hi, how are you?" - exec. "It's 8.30 on Sunday morning, it's cold and I'm here - what do you think?"

I have to say that I'd miss the rituals - like the woman who does the security announcements just before the great unwashed are allowed in - she does it in 5 european languages in a very well modulated sweet voice - but when she gets to German, she turns into a prison camp guard - "Achtung, Achtung.." - tradition has it that the old lags slam heels together and thrust out the right arm! Happy days.

are those "great unwashed" as you call them your customers your trying to sell your paints to no?

and does insulting them by calling them the great unwashed on one of their industries forums help sell more paint,

interested to know if this strategy is effective, i might start using it with my photography customers on their forums :-))

.....Us superior beings that have the munificence to deign to pass on knowledge to you, the great unwashed.

you are of course using the term "unwashed" as a pun, alluding to colour washes, aren't you.
as in "not colour wash users".
please take this lifeline.
