Here's a link to an iffy photo of a
great view of Kinsale, which used to be home.
Can't afford to live there now: property prices are
astronomical. Our family home was a three-bed bungalow. Granted it had two truly spectacular views (of the town and Bandon Estuary). Dad paid about IR£15-16K in the late seventies for it, but would probably sell well in excess of €800,000 nowadays. Daft!
Truth to tell, I'm not sorry I can't live there. It's very lonesome now that Mum & Dad are gone, and the town is beyond overcommercialised. It used to be incredibly charming.
And the greedy property developers are screwing up the scenery, too!

Well I haven't been to any exiting places lately.
So heres' a picture of my shed.
It's a big 'un. Not very pretty I'll grant you, but lot's of character and it's amazing how much kelter you can cram in. The knackered fence panels leaning up the side are waiting to be transformed into 'barnwood' frames.
Expecting a good crop of dandelions this year.
Any all other shedheads....... show us yer shed.

That's a shed and a half.
You are blessed indeed.
There used to be lots of old farm buldings around my way that I liked to put into paintings, but alas they are disappearing rapidly. Old bricks are valuable nowadays.

I have one reservation though..... It being a cowshed, there is the question of the pong. But no doubt the cows will get used to it.

Your home is absolutely beautiful, Alan!!
One of my favourite memories of my (very) brief trip to South Africa was seeing birds of paradise actually
growing, instead of in a florist's bucket. They are amazing flowers. Do you grow birds of paradise in your garden?
Also, some of my favourite flowers originated in South Africa. I'm particularly fond of mesembryanthemums!
