Ever since I started framing, around 9 years now, I have always wondered if the de-rolling device in the link is a worthy investment. It would certainly make life easier whilst measuring up and fitting the art under the mount, but do they actually work and are they worth the money.

be warned this guy's a talker, uses 30 words when you can use 3! plus he goes off topic, but he made one out of a roller blind, a lot cheaper than the De-Rol

£143 !!!!!! I cut my glass and back board, leave the print under the glass over night. By the morning it's behaviour has improved enough to handle.

Couldn't bear the video by the american, got to 4 minutes and it was either kill myself or switch it off. Great if you can't get to sleep though.

Tube from a 2" core paper roll .... a length of 180gsm poster paper.... works a treat. Cost 75p for the paper. The narrow diameter of the one in the link is a little to acute for 300+gsm FA paper i think which is mostly what I use it for. Photo's get stuck to 'stickyboard'.

Well, I have tried the plastic tube and a piece of silcone release paper taped to it and on 180gsm textured paper it didn't work. So I tried a smaller tube and got creases in the print.

I bought one of these - and I know they are ridiculously expensive - but it works like a dream. There appears to be no logical reason why this tube works and home made ones don't but that seems to be the case.

Even when I get close to the end of a roll of textured paper I can roll the last bit out and cut it into A4 pieces for sheet feeding.

My advice is try the cheap method first and if it doesn't work then buy one. They are great.

I actually went to Lion and tried it for myself with the offending paper.
