Hi,

Recently had a laser cut artwork from original paper cut of the circus in bath. The artist is amazing. It is done just with a craft knife on 120gsm paper and is A2 size. It takes about 110 hours to do each one.

I was asked to frame between 2 pieces of glass with black mount and white frame, but we ended up going with LEDs to backlight. The leds have a remote control and can be changed into about 15 colours, can flash and do other fancy things as well as turning on and off.


Each colour changes how the artwork looks but love the effect blue LEDs had.

That looks pretty cool, I like the colours, are the LEDs battery powered or do you have to plug it in to the mains.
You said it's laser cut then go to say it's cut by hand

I wonder when people say they have spent 100s of hours doing things. As if the longer they take, the better it is. Whatever the case, if the guy was a pro - that is doing it as a living, that work would have to retail around 6K for him to get minimum wage.

Steve, Leds can be battery or mains. For this one went with mains as that is what was asked for. Just a single wire coming out of the bottom of frame. I will post other colourss later.

I don't think the artist tells loads of people the time taken. He sells originals for £1700 and then a machine scans and takes laser cuts. There is a video on youtube i will try to find as it is dead impressive.

Steve, you can set it to fade from one colour to another.

It looks great! I bet the customer is well pleased.
