hi,, i am new to this forum, im irish and have recently taken up picture framing on the side.
i have a problem though , i bought a morso f and it cuts perfectly until i go to join the four sides
together and there are gaps on the inside of each mitre. so it would appear my morso is cutting
mitres at 46ish degrees instead of 45. can someone help me as i am in fear i have bought a dud

Welcome along, It won't be a dud so don't worry about that. Left fence probably needs a slight adjustment.
I think it is , Gap at front=move fence towards you, Gap at back = move fence away from you
It could well be the other way, as it's only something i've read as mine works perfectly
Also how are your blades, sharp?, hollow ground?

Rest assured that there is nothing wrong with the geometry of your machine. If you search the forum you will find that this topic has been discussed several times here in the past.

Your problem is caused by movement of the moulding as it is being cut. If you can prevent this movement by tightly holding the moulding on the left hand side as you bring the blade down, particularly on that crucial final cut, you should see a big improvement. On the other hand you could follow the advice of many framers by just compensating for the movement by setting the left fence back towards you a tad. However, note that the amount of correction to be applied in this way depends on the width and hardness of the moulding.

Wood is funny stuff and it's not exactly consistent. You will probably find this problem gets worse as the blades slowly lose their edge. If you are cutting wideish moulding then the gap will get multiplied because the diverging angle. Use very fine adjustments on the left fence. If you start to get a gap on the outside then you have gone too far.

if i decide to get my blades resharpened , how much would it cost? and where would i get it done, and i would like a good job done, not the shitty ones i have heard so much about. im in limerick in rep of ireland.

i appreciate your help regarding getting my blades sharpened, but as i am down the south of ireland would i not be a bit far away from ye?

Post them. Maybe costs a bit in postage, but that's life.

If you deal with A&T then maybe the rep could visit and take back the blunt blades.

Beware general sharpening services. It's not worth saving a few yoyos. Morso blades need specialist sharpening.

i get mine sharpened by amd in dublin, they send them to a place in dublin who specialise in it

and amd just collect them and drop them back, might cost a little more but no grief
