Arqadia Ferrosa on chop service with routing selected....
http://www.arqadia.co.uk/productdetails ... mno=575252
Would you underpin too? or would the routing plugs be enough with glue? size of frame 1067 x 732... so a fairly large one! using glass too.
With the slope on it and no flat face I am hesitant to 'test' pinning it.... any advice greatly received.
Oh,... and would you string it or use strap hangers?

Hi Chris
The routing plugs and glue should be fine i would not underpin as well,
I would also use strap hangers, or double D rings with No3 wire doubled up.

Thanks for the advice.
Guess those plugs are acting as pins... just wanted to make sure as it's a damn expensive frame on chop.
Think straps too, just to be safe. It'll be quite heavy with glass.

I have never used the plug system so hard to tell, but as long as it grips the joint tight enough for the glue to make a good bond then it should be as strong as v-nails. Although the thought occurs that the slot does reduce the glue surface quite a lot. I would have got the chops un-slotted and glued/v-nailed personally. Adding extra v-nails might even start to weaken the join.

Chris, could you add an L Plate on each corner to add some strength or perhaps use the Flat Plate Keyhole Hangers supplied by lion, as these will fit across the joint?

Hi Kev
Have used the L brackets before so will use again but think I'll stick to straps to make it easier for the end client to hang and get level.
Will be seeing you Friday pm mate... defo this time.
