Rather than invent the wheel is there anywhere I can download a decent job sheet for front of house use?

What would you class as a 'Job Sheet' for the front of house,
If you ask 20 framers what they class as a Job Sheet or what it should include, you will get ---- different answers (---- fill in the blanks)

Mine are more like Doodle Sheets.


Had a few Sheet Jobs.

My Job sheet is similar to Ricky's only it's a smaller pocket book so I can note things down if I'm out and about.
And did you really get 8 out of 10 jobs Ricky?

I just completed that job, the young lady had just bought a series of 16th century maps from Harrods, she paid a small fortune so wanted a proper job doing on them. Just waiting for her to collect,I think she'll be pleased.

Mine have been doodle sheets and scribbles in notebooks too....thought a more methodical method would help organize things and hopefully not lose the bloody customers order needing a phone call to confirm a small detail!!!!

Thanks, that is the sort of thing I had in mind.....

That form was developed in an Excel spreadsheet to allow for the layout of the boxes.

Yes I have the Excel file that I can email.

We have just (in the last couple of months) started using a program called 'iframer', which covers job sheets, invoices, job lists etc etc etc.
I think it is an absolute pearler of a program and is quite reasonably priced.
'Impressive19', I know you were looking for just a job sheet, but we have been there done that, and this program would have saved us heaps of angst and mucking about had we known about it then.

Is this job sheet just for notes on what the customer wants - or does it contain all elements involved? If all customer / job information needs to be on the job sheet then surely you need more than a sheet of hand written information.

In my business I often need to go back to see what my customer had before. I well remember searching through boxes full of duplicate books for info that I always managed to find some time after I needed it. The ability to have concise and accurate information at your command is one of the basic needs in running a good business - on many levels.

Time. I want to get information in one place as quickly and accurately as possible.
Ease. I want to search for information whilst my customer is present so when they say " I want the same as last time" then that's easily found quickly.
Accuracy. I need to make sure I've ordered materials. Taken payment. Contacted customer if things aren't going to plan. Stored accurate financial details to satisfy the vat / tax man

Whilst I could do some of that with a job sheet I would be hard pushed to do it quickly and accurately without some computer input. At the very least I would use a spreadsheet. You can always leave a space so that you can scribble on a printout if that fulfils a basic need. Importantly you will have a quickly searchable database.

Here is ours, it also produces a separate mount report to go to the mount cutting operative

IFGL that looks just the ticket (sorry). All the info you need. Personally I want to limit the amount of paperwork that I produce so have my system networked so that I can pull up jobsheets on the pc.

We do the same, but paper copies are required for us also once frame has been made the job sheet is put inside business side out, the mount report is because there is a different person cutting the mounts, the mount report stays with the mount until they are married up with the relevant frames, the customers pictures are put in a folder with the invoice which has all the project names on it (all done automatically), we can do between 70 and 150 jobs per week and have had to get organized.
