Mahogany circular 9" frame

Post by jmdwilson »

Hello

One of my customer's is looking for a 9" circular frame made of solid mahogany around 1" wide & was wondering if anyone knew of a supplier - it is for a clock face.
I guess it might be one for a local cabinet maker?

Thanks

Good luck. :P

Finding a good bit of wood will need a bit of searching. A router is the weapon of choice. Not difficult in principle, but you need a good even-grained wood or it can crack while cutting or warp afterwards.

Or you could cut on from MDF and do a faux finish.

Thought it might be a challenge. I can find an obeche round frame which I could stain & make look like mahogany but think he'd rather have the genuine article....

Maybe Geoff @ Peachframes will do you one. He posted a pic of a circular frame that he did.

Thanks if I have no luck with a friend who is a cabinet maker - he's looking for a piece of mahogany at the moment for me - then I will contact Geoff.
