Would be grateful if somebody could give me some advise on repairing chips in gesso, what to use etc., The frame that I am trying to repair is cream coloured and the chips are at the corners caused by the Morso cutting.

Fine Surface Polyfilla. Can be tricky to do on a finished moulding as the filler will shrink and you can't really fill proud of the surface and sand it flat. Depends on how big the chips are. It's a bit runny in a new pot, but if you scoop a bit out and leave it awhile until it's sort-of half dry it will thicken up so you can handle it better.
There is some stuff called Daz Pronto which is air-drying modelling clay. Better for big holes as you can knead it like plasticine and smooth it flush in the hole and it doesn't shrink.
Once you have the hole filled you can blend in the finish with various acrylic paint colours and a dab of Gilt Cream if it's gold or silver.

Or you could find a moulding that doesn't chip.

Thanks very much. I should have tested the moulding before I stocked it. I won't be buying it again.
