is 2mm AR Glass size 1120x1220mm ok?

Post by Framie »

Hi all,
Wouldn't normally take jobs this big but its for a friend.

So just wondering if using 2mm UltraVue AR glass at the size 1120x1219mm would be ok?

The frame would be lions L2044, box frame with spacers with a hardboard board backing.

many thanks,
Framie

I don't know the frame and I don't use that particular glass, but if they make it that big then why would there be a problem?
We keep clear colour 1800x1340 sheets and I've no problem using them, also plain glass which is 1800x1220.
If you can cut it, you can use it, just make sure the frame is substantial enough.

UltraVue is a tad thicker than the cooking variety 2mm glass. I wouldn't flinch at using that size.

My own self-imposed limit is one square metre unsupported, which this is well over. Would be acrylic for me.

I have the same one square metre limit and have never been beyond that Roboframer.

I would have gone to Acylic but it needed to be AR without a stupid price.

most TV glass products are 2.3mm - 2.5mm thick. The difference is mill variations.
