I'm needing 2 large mounts cut, approx 1.5m x 1.5m with a 150mm border.
Can anyone help?

Think that's a bit beyond the pale.

I don't know of a source of board that size. Not in one piece anyway.
Even making one from flat wood with mitred corners would be a challenge.
What's the nature of the item to be framed?

Thanks Ian, I'll see if they can do other sizes.
I've got a quote from John Jones, they can do them that size

JPP are a supplier only, useful to know of for boards and papers, but they do not cut mounts

Just checked that quote from JJ, and it's over £300 for one mount that size (not including delivery)
I think they misread my request for a white mount and have quoted for it in solid gold.

That would be about right for John Johns.

Did you find anyone else who can do it?
You could get the mountboard from John Purcell Paper and cut it by hand. I have cut oversize mounts with a Keencut straight edge and hand held cutter with no problems, they looked like they were done on a mountcutter, although it was 1500 micron and not 2200... which I would not be so keen on cutting.
I wonder how much the 162cm x 218cm board costs? its got to be around £90 a sheet. Mark-up, add some labour, and £300 is not crazy expensive if you ask me. It's not as if you can get it done at your local framer

Yeah. Too big for any manual cutter or a CMC (unless someone knows different in which case I will stand corrected).
Cutting with a straightedge/handheld cutter while simple enough is fraught with peril. Sooner or later you are going to knacker a £90 sheet (or two...) so that price for the finished article isn't quite as exorbitant as it might seem.
As my old gaffer used to say: "Things always look easy when someone else is doing them".

I think you would find one of the large CMC cutters that sign makers use would cut it.

Valiani CMCs with Vstudio software can cut oversize mounts - in several pieces that are then joined. Ive never used the function but it looks pratical. The join is bevelled to create as clean a join as possible - would cost less than £300.

Valiani cmc would cut the large mount as four pieces.

I have used that feature a few times, it works fine especially with textured mount card.
