I'm framing some medals. The customer wants conservation glass. How can I stop them swinging and scratching the coating on the inside of the glass. Would a blob of silicon damage the medals ?

Very possibly but it would be more effective anyway, to tie them down - and not difficult either. Thread of a suitable colour, invisible thread or thin Melinex straps are all good. There's always shaped Melinex mounts too.
