A knitted tea cosy that is, can't say I've ever framed one of those before. Customer was given it as a gift but does not own a teapot, which I think is very sad!

Mounting board is almost yellow, not white like it looks.

Black Artcare F Board spacers, Clarity glass and the frame is sitting inside a 30mm flat black moulding mitred on its side.

Looks great John, I've used a white version of that moulding, it's lovely to cut.
Can you talk me through the setup with spacers and black moulding on its side, I don't quite get it?
Thanks

Here's a flat black moulding mitred normally

Here it is mitred on its side .......

You can either put your frame in it like this (and Like I have in the first post).

Or you can put the box in your frame rebate and it will give you another rebate for your backings. But with this method you'll need a mount or something to conceal the box and I don't like the look of mounts on most 3-d things; I also don't like the look of a box poking out of the back of the frame (The "Cuckoo clock" effect!)

Foam board spacers are just like wooden spacers you can buy but there is no need to join them, just glue them to the rebate.

excuse my ignorance but could a wooden slip from a box frame not do the same jod for the cosy?

If it's to go inside the frame, yes and so could a pine batten from B&Q, but the advantage of using a flat moulding is that it gives a rebate for either the capping frame to sit in or for backing boards.

You can also use interesting combinations

Simons have recently added a moulding to their range for the very use that Roboframer is discussing. It's finished all round so that you can cut and use it any way round that you like. Off the top of my head, I think it is called their Display range. I have not tried it, so I don't know much about yet.

BTW, nice job as usual.
