Use of acrylic

I'm framing some A2 size watercolours and have been asked to use acrylic as they are going to be mailed. Is 2mm thick enough or would I be better with 3mm for sufficient rigidity?

Thanks

John

If they are against a mount 2 would probably be fine for that size.

I would use glass and ship with a specialist courier like Fragalistics? :?

As there a are number of them they charge full price for the first but something like £10 for the second, and might do a deal for a number to the same location.

For me I would use acrylic if specified but not as a compromise because it is being shipped.

Do the recipients have a framer near them? If so, you could use a stout board in place of the glass and assemble temporarily. When they arrive a local framer could glaze them and do the final assembly.
