replacing cutting heads on Keencut Laser 1200

Is anyone aware of an outlet for buying replacement heads for the (no longer produced) Keencut Laser 1200? Or, alternatively, can cutting heads from newer Keencut models be used on the old Laser range? Any advice would be very much appreciated. Matt Gibson

Hi Matt,
Are you sure that you need a new cutting head? They run on replaceable nylon bearings and the pivoting blade carriers run on bearing too!
There is some degree of adjustment on these bearings. To get good results with the cutting head sliding bearings they tend to get a little stiff and like a bit of silicon lubricant to reduce the friction.

Thankyou. I will do some experimentation and get back to you!

Hi Matt
This isn't a reply to your post. Can't help you on that one I'm afraid. I posted the 'STRAP HINGES FOR KEENCUT LASER 1000' title, and thought as you have a KC1200, does it have strap hinges, and where do you plan to get your next ones from when one eventually does snap?
Hope you get your problem sorted,
MickD

Hi Mick,
yes it does and, in answer to your question, I haven't a clue where to find replacements. I read your posting and it highlighted some impending trouble at some point in the future!
Let me know if you find a solution.
Cheers, Matt
