Stupid open back slippers, went arse over tit down the stairs - BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM-BOOM-BOOM-BOOM woke up in a heap at the bottom - wife was still peeling spuds in the kitchen - staggered in to the kitchen "I just fell down the friggin' stairs DIDN'T YOU HEAR ANYTHING"??!!
"Oh" she said, "Is that what that noise was, I thought it was Eastenders"!

I have to admit that this is not a true story, as someone who knows us well and has read this has pointed out to me.....
1. We live in a bungalow
2. I do all the cooking.
3. We NEVER have Eastenders on

Re: Fell down the stairs
But confusing TV with reality is easily done. It annoys me a lot when you get phones/doorbells ringing
on the box and it's exactly the same as your own. TV sound nowadays is so good that you can't tell it from real life sounds.
There's a particular ad that gets my goat. It's the one about oak furniture. No verneer 'ere. There is a loud knocking sound
and it sounds for all the world like some git is banging on my wall.
Many is the time I have got up and fed the cat on the basis of a meeeow on TV.
