Does anyone work with artists that regularly post/courier framed originals/ltd edition prints to customers please?
If so who do they use to transport the frames? If the frames don't have glass what is used?
Thanks

Aardvark Art Services. Moving art about is what they do, and they do it very well, but not cheap :D

Yep. Aardvark never hurt anybody.

Used them a few times and they are very professional. Once loaded 40K worth in the form of three paintings.
I didn't pay for that one but I seem to think it was about 50 quids. The van was air-conditioned. :D

http://www.fragilistics.co.uk Have used Fragalistics for about 6 months now and service is great. It is about 3 times the cost of a normal courier but you don't have to wrap it as well as you would for TNT etc so it saves allot of time and packaging, and there is the bonus that there is someone to talk to on the end of the phone and it has some sort of insurance (though we have our own Gallery transit insurance anyway). The way the routes work it is maximum of 2 weeks for delivery but on 3 occasions now they have collected from us on a Friday and delivered in London on Saturday. :D

I have also been using fragilistics for a couple of years now.. their van does a 'round robin' of the uk and therefor can take up to 2 weeks to deliver but like the previous comment, more often than not, the deliver within a few days and I have never had a problem with them.. they only deal with fragile as the name suggests and they do take great care of stuff in transit.. highly recommended to anyone
