Looooooooong shot

Post by louisesimon »

Anybody got 80ft of R&H A195 in Oak that they don't need and are near enough to London for me to pick it up this weekend.

A195?

Either I'm being blind, or Acrobat isn't searching properly - or R&H have a new catalogue. Are you sure?

I don't recognise A140 either... so maybe they have new mouldings.

Page 7 in both there 2009 catalogue and Feb 2016 catalogue.

Certainly not new mouldings, I wonder if that page is missing from your pdf, I only have a physical catalogue

Both in my catalogue. How do you join such thin moulding and fix frame hardware?? :?

HI David,

A195 simply glue and underpin, fixings go on backboard.

A140 glue, 7mm underpin wedge, then place each corner in a benchtop mitre clamp, hammer panel pins close to the top and countersink. Then put frame in a strap clamp whilst glue dries. then fill the pin holes with filler. Often with a140 I'll add a subframe which acts as hanging mechanism, and gives it some strength.

I try not to offer A140 too much these days as I generally use a Hoffmann to join frames with dovetails but the minimum width for that is 10mm, so I use a hellova lot of sw3850.

How odd, p7 missing from the pdf I was looking at; now deleted.

I haven't got any of that one, sorry (as we're not far apart).
