Keencut Laser Mount cutter

Post by MarkD »

I have just bought a second hand Keencut Laser and would appreciate some advice on its operation.

It has been supplied without a parts list or instruction manual; although the seller has promised to send the on. Without them I am concerned that there is a sliding stop missing from the main cutting bar. There is a lower stop but no upper stop. Can anyone who still has one of these machines confirm if this is correct?

Many thanks, Mar

Struth! Another Mark! Welcome to the Forum! :)

Have you tried contacting Keencut directly? They are very helpful, and could probably advise you about whether any parts are missing, and they might be able to furnish you with a copy of the manual. Their UK website is here.

Thanks Aime,

Sorry, but I can't help my name - I think it's an age thing, when I started my apprenticeship there were 5 of us out of 13 all called Mark!

But, back to the mount cutter; I thought I would be pushing my luck a bit too far by asking Keencut as its been out of production for quite a while now but I might try them next week if I can't work it out or if I don't receive the instructions from the seller.

Thanks again, Mark

Hi Mark,
I have an instruction manual for the Keencut Laser on pdf file. Let me know your email address and I'll forward it on.

Yup two stops! one this side and one that but if the one on that side is missing the whole thing has been dismantled at some stage because if the stop is missing there should still be a little slider into which the stop is screwed.

Problem Solved! - Thanks to FYG's instruction manual.

I was expecting, just as Alan had described, that there were be two stops and was ready to confront the seller and ask for my money back. It's lucky I didn't as the instructions show that white nylon buffer on the measuring scale is used for starting the cut - Although I do wonder if perhaps a second stop was added on later models.

Thank you all for your assistance

Mark
