Hogarth Frame?
As a newcomer to framing, I have to ring somone back about a job and they have mentioned having something framed in a Hogarth Frame. Before I show my ignorance to the caller, could someone explain to me what such a frame is and what is involved in its production?

Absolutely a Zep fan!
Many thanks for the reply on the frame.
Yes I was one of the 28 million that registered for Zeppelin tickets but will have to make do with the DVD!!

Too right!!
Yes Moglet that about sums it up. I have a friend who had his ticket and back stage pass delivered by Robert Plant's sister!!! and still he couldn't get me one. Fingers crossed for a tour though. Still, Zep music helps me get through a framing day.

Now that just adds insult to injury!Twin Peaks wrote:... I have a friend who had his ticket and back stage pass delivered by Robert Plant's sister!!! and still he couldn't get me one.

My "end of week" ritual is to pump up the volume to an eardrum-bleeding level, and have a good ol' headbang to "In the Evening...." That Friday Feeling, or wot!!!!!

Skinny hogarth's look cr*p, same with bright gold ones too. Go for wide ones with dull gold, but get some samples first. The black finish on some can be pretty naff too. Some are a pain to join or to fire points into.
Surprisingly we sell them quite often. One of our favorites was a mottled very dark brown hogarth. People loved it, but I've no idea if it can be obtained anymore.

Thanks everyone for enlightening me about Hogarth frames. I just need to get hold of some. I have a customer who has 'several' old prints and they want Hogarth moulding. The Arqadia one illustrated above is too narrow, they want something a bit thicker. A & T have discontinued theirs. Any suggestions of suppliers.
